What’s up with Steinbach

Many people outside Steinbach have a perception of Steinbach with regards to our religious beliefs.

One thing you will definitely notice about Steinbach is the number churches. In a city of 11,000 people, 28-30 churches does seem to be an excessive amount.

Steinbach still has a very strong Mennonite presence, which can be seen in the amount of churches and also the fact that our major stores are closed on Sunday. Never-the-less, we are a growing community and are seeing a lot of new faces and people from different backgrounds.

I grew up in Aylmer, Ontario, approximately 2 hours south of Toronto and 25 minutes south of London, Ontario. Coming from such a populous area to a small city as Steinbach is like entering into the twilight zone. People are different, the whole community mind set takes time to get use to.

Steinbach is definitely a great community to be apart of and it is very exciting to see all the changes to come.
